Is it a Halloween movie?  Is it a Christmas movie?  Who knows, just watch it during both holidays and you’ll be covered.  The Nightmare Before Christmas has the typical Tim Burton dark fantasy feel, but there’s also plenty of joy and hope, and there’s even a sweet love story.  The plot is really about learning to appreciate and find the wonder in the things you have, but this movie certainly isn’t as in-your-face as some Disney films.  The underlying theme of this story is hidden behind memorable songs, creepy toys, and a truly horrifying villain, all made even more terrifying by the film’s stop motion animation.  Although it’s definitely not considered one of Disney’s best, this Halloween classic is well worth a watch.
